Welcome to the Wine Tourism Toolkit, a comprehensive resource providing detailed information about every aspect of establishing and operating a successful wine tourism business.
Developed by WFA and available to all Australian wine businesses, this online toolkit updates the successful CD-ROM version released in 2004. Once again WFA received funding support from the Federal Government (via a TQUAL grant) to make it a reality.
The toolkit is in three sections, and there is something here for everyone, irrespective of their current commitment to wine tourism.
DEVELOPING: Looks at what's involved (and the questions you should ask) in enhancing the value of your cellar door operations and moving further into the area we call "wine tourism". This includes what products and services to offer, the compliance and licensing issues and, of course, the need for a good business plan.
SELLING: This section is all about your brand image, how you tell your story and sell yourself, and more nuts-and-bolts issues such as customer service, direct marketing and the value of merchandise.
RUNNING: And finally there are the operational issues that make the whole thing run as it should. Our Cellar Door Manual includes valuable checklists covering all aspects of day-to-day activities.
